Appreciation allows the intention of the heart to be aligned with the truth of the moment.
The act of appreciation creates a change; when you can find something to appreciate in your experiences, it changes what you think and feel and therefore, changes a part of you.
You are an accumulation of all that you have experienced, along with what you believe about those experiences, and who you became from them. That is an important distinction … you are not simply a product of your environment, but rather a product of who you chose to become as a result them. When you can look at the challenges of your life and allow them to reveal a message or provide guidance, then you turn that challenge into an opportunity to learn, change and grow.
Opportunities often come disguised as a challenge. Why? Because most of us operate from unconscious patterns with such alarming regularity, that it often takes something to knock us off that course, so that we can begin to look at things differently. And it is those very challenges that when reflected back on, revealed wisdom and insight that allowed us make changes, or a new decision, or simply become clearer about what we really wanted.
So it becomes an opportunity to look at the things in our life to find the good parts … the lessons … the moments of joy, peacefulness or insight. This allows you to connect with the patterns of your life and change them. It allows you to become more conscious in your life so that you can consciously create what you want. It allows you to find the appreciation in all things, so that you can feel good. And ultimately feeling good is all that really matters.
So remember, the situations of your life can make you bitter or better – you get to choose which.
