2020 – The Year of the Sensitive Soul

January 1, 2020

"Hi my name is Melody and I am a Sensitive". While true, those words have often struck a chord of confusion, frustration, loneliness and even shame for me.

I have always been Sensitive, I just tried to hide it for much of my life. Growing up I pretended I didn’t feel things deeply, tried to be more 'logical' and followed the path of my family that left me with the message that emotions were tricky, messy and at best, something to be tolerated, not celebrated.

Doggy Life Lessons – Nothing is too Big (Video)

October 28, 2019

I am having so much fun with my sweet little puppy Willow. Right now she is 3 months old and weighs 2.6 pounds (she’s small, but mighty!). She brings so much joy into my life and is constantly showing me new ways to look at things.

I had some doggy toys laying around and I was sure that this big ball would be too large for her. Wrong! I guess nothing is too big when you put your Whole Heart into it.

Being in Your Heart vs. Opening Your Heart

June 13, 2019

Life is fleeting – we all know that and often, there are circumstances that happen to remind us of its tenuous nature. That was true for me on May 30th when my world got turned upside down. What started out as a beautiful spring day, turned into a horrible nightmare, when my sweet and sensitive little 6-pound dog Bella (my constant companion), was viciously attacked in my yard by a neighboring German Shepherd.

As I was being rushed with her to the vet, I got a message so strongly that I must stay in my heart and allow it to remain open. I remember wondering why, or more specifically how… how do I stay open-hearted in the midst of something so traumatic, when all I really wanted to do was go into auto-pilot?

A Healing Versus a Cure

May 9, 2019

While often used interchangeably, there is a difference between a healing and a cure. A healing is a return to wholeness. A cure is the elimination or relief of a condition or disease. You can actually experience a profound healing, without first experiencing a cure of whatever condition you are currently going through.

Your soul is always seeking a return to the wholeness and oneness of its perfection.

All of your circumstances, even (especially) those that seem to bring you to your knees in frustration, desperation or pain, are geared towards healing; they are geared towards creating an opening within you to experience a sense of wholeness into, and a remembering of, your innate divine nature.

Intentions for a New Year

January 8, 2013

Here we are at the start of a new year, always filled with promise for what is to come. The beginning of a new year is often an inner calling for many – it's an opportunity to tap into expanded awareness and consciousness, with new ways of showing up in the world from a more heart-centered place.

What are the changes that you desire in the coming year? What is it that you want to do, create or experience more of in these next months?

Take a few moments to decide on your intentions for this year. The energy at the beginning the year sets the tone for what is to follow. It becomes a road map of sorts that can motivate and direct you forward towards what you have aligned with through your intentions.

Bitter or Better

November 16, 2012

Your life is an accumulation of all that you have experienced, along with what you believe about those experiences and who you become as a result of them.
It’s an important distinction… you are not simply a product of your environment, but rather a product of who you choose to become as a result of your environment. Every challenge in your life has the potential to reveal a message or provide guidance and while you may not always be able to control what happens to you, you are always in control of who you become from what happens to you.
